Theses bags are normally ridiculously expensive…this deal is awesome. They work just like the others! I just use the vacuum in my home so I don’t deal with broken glass much or anything that might tear the bags so not sure on how “strong” they are, but I’ll be buying these from now on!

I’ve waited a few months to write this, to make sure I’m still pleased with this vac, and I am. I give a lot of thought to my vacuums, because I use it every day (dogs that shed a lot). Here’s my vacuum analysis: 1. I like canister vacs vs. uprights because pushing just the head of a canister vac is less tiring than pushing around the total weight of an upright vac. 2. When considering the power of a vac, I don’t buy anything less than 12 amps. (which this vac has) AND I purchase one with a power head too (which this vac has). More power! 3. When replacing my old vac (a Sears Kenmore which I loved, but they no longer get good reviews), I decided to go bagless because the price of bags has gone up so much. I chose this one because it has a large dust canister, unlike some of the other brands. It’s easy enough to remove, empty, and replace back into the vac. 4. This vac is lightweight too. Let’s face it, vacuuming isn’t fun. Right? Wrong! Using this new Eureka Bagless Whirlwind canister is actually fun. How can that be? Well, for starters, the power nozzle ‘walks’ across the rug on it’s own, so the pushing effort is, well, effortless. The very aggressive brush bar raises the nap and picks up all the pet hair first time over. I love the self adjusting nozzle, no buttons or knobs to turn. Also, I especially like the fact that there are NO cords to plug and unplug every time you want to use the hose end with attachments. Sure, the dusting brush could be a little bit larger, but the fact that it is RIGHT THERE on the wand, along with the crevice tool, is heaven. No searching for lost attachments, or stopping to go back to the canister, open a lid, and retrieve an attachment. Sucks, June 16, 2008

This is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever used. The suction is fantastic, it’s ridiculously easy to clean and empty, and it doesn’t kick up a lot of dust.

The agitator is perfect for relatively short carpets. It’s nonadjustable, however, so it’ll chew up thin carpets and do nothing on shag.

Terrible for pet hair!, February 9, 2009

After my Shark canister vac finally bit the dust, this was the only canister vac I could find after going to several stores. That was the main reason I bought it. We have four short hair dogs, two of which shed quite a bit. I have used this vacuum about a dozen times now and if the floor has more than a day or two worth of hair buildup, the hair just collects on the brush, it doesn’t suck up into the vacuum. The first time it happened, I couldn’t figure out why all of a sudden the vacuum wasn’t picking anything up. So I turned the suction head upside down and found it completely clogged with dog hair. I ended up pulling out about a softball sized wad of hair out of the head by the time I was done. My Shark never had a problem picking up the hair or with clogging so I know it’s not just that we have too much hair (too many dogs, yes – but a reasonable amount of hair for a vacuum to handle). Trust the 1 star reviews, April 22, 2010

When I ordered this, I saw 3 1-star reviews. I went ahead and ordered because I don’t have any pets and this is the only canister with power nozzle in my budget. I was totally wrong! Packing is very poor, machine is very loud, heavy to carry around, and **doesn’t not pick up** what I wanted to clean on the carpet. Dust won’t stay in the dustbin, rather made themselves balls in the filter. So when I emit the dust, there was no dust in the bin. I had to pull the dust balls from filter. Very messy and time consuming!! I cannot turn the machine off from handle, rather walk to the main machine and turn off. Roller is so small. Do yourself a favor by not buying this awful machine. You’ll be happy to avoid to hassle return (Amazon wanted me to take it back to post office and will reimburse up to ). Not sure it is enough for postage.

inexpensive but you get what you pay for, April 1, 2010

I purchased this vacuum for it’s relatively reasonable price and features. I wish that I had followed my intuition; that you do indeed get what you pay for. This vacuum has very few pros, so I will address them first. I have some lighter wieght area rugs where the variable suction is a great feature. It has pretty good suction and does well on bare floors. The brush attachment has a cool swivel head that allows you to manuever it for varying positions. That pretty much sums up the pros.

Right out of the box, a plastic cord retainer was broken. It was meant to stabilize the cord that you MUST disconnect before emtying the dust collecter. Just poor design, in my estimation. A few weeks later the female retainer for that connection snapped making it a challenge to reconnect. The nozzle hose is quite stiff, but worse is the swivel mechanisms to manuever the powerhead. The powerhead is pretty poorly designed and is not good on carpet which is what it is really designed…

This vacuum will save my back!, February 22, 2007

This vacuum is just what I wanted. I have had an upright vacuum in an apartment with all hardwood floors for a while now. Not a good thing! When I use the hose (plus attachment) from the upright to vacuum the floor, the hose isn’t long enough so I have to stoop and end up hurting my back every time. Plus, the upright is heavy and is always tipping over during this process. Very frustrating. This cute little canister vacuum will completely save my back. I just got it yesterday and tried it out last night. It has a long hose, so no stooping. The floor attachment angles, so it’s easy to get under furniture and feel like you’re actually picking up the dirt. It has great suction! Plus, it’s so light weight, it’s a breeze to maneuver. I was done vacuuming in such a short time! I really couldn’t believe it. I’m very much looking forward to using this regularly. I love this vacuum!

I bought this little vacuum for my kitchen & dinning floors, but it does much more..

I cannot believe this little vacuum has stronger suction then my larger vacuums..Fantastic

I wanted a vacuum that had a bag, that would fit into my pantry,& had great suctions, and this fits the bill.

For my kitchen, I bought the cordless bagless electrolux,that was handy with out a cord, but the suctions was awful. The dirt/dust would just go right to the filter, and no suction. Plus it was a mess to empty.

I also bought that cordless type of carpet sweeper, that worked, but then I realized it was throwing the dust up my baseboards, and another mess to empty!!

The suction is fantastic.

Its so light weight to do the base-boards, the ceilings, you don’t even know its following you.

It comes with a little attachment, that I thought was useless at first!

I now use it for my bathroom drawers, my kitchen drawers etc…

it’s not broken but it keeps falling apart, August 24, 2007

The long tube that’s supposed to nest into the longer bits of the tube or the attachments does not fit well enough. During ten minutes of vacuuming, I probably have to pick up falling pieces about three or four times. The two attachments (a brush and angled-looking thing) also fall off (as does the head of the vacuum) and do not fit easily back into their holding place in the canister. The canister doesn’t roll so much as gets dragged behind you since it constantly flips onto its side. The vacuum also takes up a surprising amount of storage space since the tube loops out from the body. In addition, the vacuum is difficult to get in and out of storage because the tube merely rests in place so it gets easily knocked over. There is also no good way to carry the vacuum when not in use. I really really really hate this vacuum.

We have pets and children, so we’ve had a few Bissell “Spot Bots” and carpet shampooers in the past. We’ve also had opportunity to rent machines from retail stores and have used professional carpet cleaning services a few times. The “Spot Bot” and Bissell Pro-Heat that we’ve used most extensively, worked well, but we looked forward to the opportunity to try this system because something that combined the portability of Spot Bot, with the power of the Pro-Heat seemed ideal.

Our expectations were pretty high for this machine, and we weren’t disappointed at all. Both as a portable machine and as a full blown carpet shampooer, it does an exceptional job. I have never owned my own carpet cleaner, to be honest. When we’ve felt the need to shampoo carpets in the past we’ve always rented the machine from our local grocery store (what a beast!) but this Bissell deep cleaner is one fine machine!

Upon opening the box I was a little overwhelmed (it’s a large box and a complicated looking device), but I was quickly put to ease by the actual simplicity of operating this cleaner. Assembling was simple: take a screw driver and screw on the handle. Took me just a couple minutes (and I am NOT a “handy” type, but the husband wasn’t home and I was too anxious to wait). There were two instruction booklets, one was a quick start type with pictures and just a couple pages, the other was a full several page manual. I appreciated both. In reality, it was easy to get this cleaner up and running. Once you get to know it and learn the basics, it’s a snap.

I had an old Sears/Kenmore carpet cleaner based on a wet/dry vac and it was monstrously heavy and noisy. It did not have rotating brushes, but did remove dirt fairly well. When the water pump broke, I needed something else. The Amazon reviews for the Hoover models are better than any of the Bissells, but upon closer inspection there are a substantial number of Hoover owners who report shearing off the brush plastic drive-shaft after only a few uses. This is a replacement! Consumer Reports (Oct 2010) says that all the larger Hoover and Bisssell cleaners clean equally well, but that Bissell models are somewhat quieter. They also report that Bissell vacuums are more reliable than Hoover (and I suppose carpet cleaners will be similar). Furthermore, Bissell has a 2 year warranty and Hoover has a one year warranty (although in some Amazon reviews, Hoover owners report only a 90 day warranty!). I Like this Vacuum, February 12, 2011

I don’t understand why this vac doesn’t get more attention here on Amazon. I kept dismissing it because there was very little info and the one star review. It was three times the price of the Eureka 71B that I was considering as my top choice.

After some availability problems for the 71B I came to realize I didn’t really want or need the roller brush on my quick use hand held vac. We have a lot of long hair in our family and I would be always cutting it out of the roller brush, like I have to do with our large main carpet vac.

Broke within a week of use, Oreck has been unresponsive, June 27, 2011

A week after I purchased this item, the extender piece cracked. I contacted Oreck via phone as per the warranty and was told to fax the receipt and explanation to them complete with my phone and mail address. 2 1/2 months later I still have not received a response from my fax although I was told over the phone they would ship a replacement part to me immediately upon receiving the receipt. The vacuum works great otherwise but mine is now fixed up with duct tape. I am VERY VERY disappointed in Oreck customer service and I would hesitate to purchase another Oreck product in the future. NOTE: this is not a reflection on the distributor of the product since the vacuum arrived on time and in excellent condition. The problem lies with Oreck and their warranty customer service.

Oreck Pro handheld vac, September 2, 2011

I’ve had one of these vacs for a few years. I use to keep my work sites clean when I’m doing final finishing on remodel projects. It’s a lot handier than a shop vacuum and it is surprisingly powerful. I use it for cleaning up tile work, finish sanding, light routing, and a bunch of other jobs that don’t call for my 14 gallon, 5.5 horsepower shop vacuum.

Even though it gets tossed around like the rest of our power tools, it’s still in good shape and doing what we need. If we do manage to break this one, we’ll buy another.

Most Awesome Vacuum Ever **edited, January 6, 2009

This may not be a good vacuum cleaner if your home is fully carpeted (the brush head is just plain useless on carpet), but my home has all wood and tile floors. This is easily the most powerful vacuum I’ve ever used.

The suction is so fierce, with a new bag you can lift a small child or pet directly off the floor. Any and all pet hair within a foot of the suction head is sucked directly into it.

The retract/extend feature of the wand is also handy, because the vacuum is easily stored in a coat closet. The wand locks into the bottom of the vacuum when it is standing vertically.

Filtration is incredible. I’ll never use a filthy bagless vacuum again.

I’m not a particularly into home cleaning devices, but this vacuum is so bad*ss I just had to review it.

I’ve owned this vacuum cleaner for a few years now. I have pets, so there’s always lots of fur to vacuum up. Although this vacuum is light weight and easy to use, the carpet head constantly clogs with pet hair. I do not recommend this vacuum cleaner if you have lots of pet hair to vacuum up.

The reason I ended up on this page is because I was looking for replacement parts for the Magic Blue vacuum. Bought it more than 2 years ago and found it and excellent vacuum for some , then. Now Sears has it for about 0. Amazon.com’s 0+ must think we are in the Amazon with no other options.

The one star review that claims that the brush stopped turning after some 6 months is because he does not know that he needs to CLEAN it of hair and strings that spool up on the brush and get it stuck. The brush is not motor driven but turbine driven from the vacuum suction. The vacuum is a very good machine, extremely flexible and the low hardwood sweeper profile allows access under most furniture, from all angles. I never owner super expensive vacuum cleaners, but this one beats by far a 0+ upright I had. I like this vacuum very much. It is small and light weight and has a longer than usual suction tube. We have mostly hard floors and the attachment for that works very well. Unlike others I’ve had in the past that just rattle over the surface ineffectively, this one actually works. I have had trouble with the wand detaching from the tube part and the attachment brush doesn’t pivot on the wand, but these are small issues and I have adapted. Definitely worth the money.

I was skeptical about canister vacs but was talked into buying it. I was surprised with this little vacuum. It really works great! You can use it on carpet or hardwoods/linoleum or other hard floors without changing suction heads. -You just close a valve and PRESTO, it changes the suction of the vacuum to adjust for the surface you are cleaning. It is light enough to carry around the house while cleaning as well. There is also a pivoting wheel under the base of the vacuum to help maneuver the vacuum around turns. The only thing that could make this vacuum better would be a automatic self-retracting cord. I also love the extra feature of the HEPA filter. It is a good buy for the money.

Hepa filters only work if the air actually goes through them (Eureka should recall this item), April 26, 2011

Ordered the “pet lover” mighty mite to replace a mighty mite smart vac that just burned out after 10 years of service.

The unit I received indeed has facilities to attach a hepa filter, but the vacuum exhaust does not all go through the filter. I felt air blowing out near the front of the handle/on-off switch area, so I took the unit apart hoping that a gasket was misaligned or something. Unfortunately, I found that the unit was NOT built in a way so that the exhaust air would be forced through the hepa filter. SOME air goes through the filter, but compared to my old unit, most of it does not.

I then took apart my old unit (with the burned out motor), and confirmed that it indeed WAS designed/built so that the exhaust could only go through the hepa filter. I might have kept the “pet lover” if the shroud used to seal the exhaust of the old unit fit onto the motor of the new unit, but no such luck.
